Theres this guy in my class who sits RIGHT behind me and lets just say I sent this guy a carnation for Valentine's Day(our school sells them for $1) Anyway,I think he knows that it was me because of my handwriting. Reply:Maybe you can wear a dress. Empire waisted is flattering on almost all figures, and with lots of dresses, you can wear tennis shoes, (vans type things??) to make it a little more casual. Or if your school allows them, try some platform wedges. and make sure you paint your toe nails and wear an ankle bracelet. Good luck!!

If you have un-skinny legs, then I'd wear a jean skirt
with black leggings.
The leggings will help in making you legs appear slimmer.
Oh, and wear the ankle-length leggings.
If you can, I'd wear somewhat of a heeled shoe.
It makes your legs look longer and skinnier

Very Picky Preteen?
i have a extremely picky little preteen, she doesn't get breakfast, even how hard i try to make her. she alway's says i'm not hungry, all she eats is ramen noodles, which i know are very unhealthly! but the kid's gotta eat. doesn't take vitamins there "nasty", and the doctor said she needs vitamins. I've tried carnation instant breakfast that was good for a while, then she hated it. so i want suggestions for vitamins, healthy foods, etc.

Reply:As a preteen, she's old enough to understand consequences. She's also old enough to swallow pills (5 year olds can do it--have her practice on m%26amp;m's if she doesn't know how). Give her a multivitamin. They even make gummy ones now. And, if she doesn't want what you're feeding her, she can sit at the table until she's finished or take away privileges-- phone time, friends, after school activities. She'll get the hint. Have the doctor talk directly to her and then force her. She's old enough to reason with. She's being stubborn and you're caving in. Suck it up and feed the kid.

A reward system might help too. Let her get something she really wants monthly if she tries a certain amount of new foods within that time period. If she doesn't want to eat tell her fine and excuse her from the table. She is to get NOTHING else to eat for the rest of the evening. If she makes herself a snack, go pick it up and take it away from her. She isn't going to starve to death by skipping a couple of meals and she will be more inlcined to start eating regular. But you and your husband are going to have to stop being "too busy" as well.

Kittens with URI?
I have a litter of 3 kittens and they clearly have a URI I took one to the vet was put on Clavamox and not much is happening.I am pretty knowledged when it comes to cats I have seen many URI's before but it's much harder when the kittens are only 10 days old!They are NOT nursing I am bottle feeding with karo syrup,one egg yolk,carnation evaporated milk and walk mixed in a container and small amount put in a bottle after warmed up.One kitten is actually eating it well she seems to like it.The one little girl is so tiny she is very weak I believe she will move and walk around and she seems kinda strong at times but after I feed her she just goes back to sleep.I know kittens sleep alot!I wash their little eyes with a warm cloth and nose to help break up some of the congestion so they can breathe better it helps.I know about the milk from the mother its the best because of the antibodies.I read that the Clavamox will only help with the secondary infection which are the mean symtoms.

13 going on 14 want to lose weight?
hey okay im 13 gonna be 14 in december. i'm 5'2" and 135 lbs. im pretty muscular, but im a little bit chubby and want to lose the last of it. usually what i eat day by day consists of:
Breakfast: nutri-grain bar and Carnation Instant Breakfast
Lunch: lunch meat sandwich, some fruit, side like animal crackers or 100 calorie packs
Dinner: some meat, a carb, and a vegetable.
I have dessert about once a week and my exercise is usually hardcore Dance Dance Revolution on difficult for an hour about 4 times a week. What can i do to lose the last bit of weight I want to lose? i wanna lose abt 15 lbs

dont sweat it just eat a normal diet not too much junk food
and play sports you will lose the weight that way if you restrict your calories you will stunt your growth! if you dont like playing alot of sports pick up so hobbies that really require running like perhaps running or jump rope and no its not girly if you dont beleive me type buddy lee into youtube and look at the guy and tell me its girly! just eat right drink alot of water and be active!
and remember your still growing so if you dont gain too much fat the fat you have now will dissapear!

When you want a snack, just have a spoonfull if peanutbutter its protein and it will keep you feeling full. Try to differ your workouts, running with a friend and talking is fun, maybe order an excersize DVD. Do crunches and push-ups. Keep it exciting, so that working out is fun. Good Luck!! I hope you loose the weight and keep it off

Make sure you have good portions. You don't want to starve yourself, but sometimes you may realize that your body doesn't need so much. You don't want to eat a huge dinner either. Cutting out that desert or limiting how much or how often you eat it might help(maybe only take a bite of it or a small portion). You can always exercise more. Maybe get some other sort of exercise. You could add in some toning exercises(crunches, push-ups, lunges, ect.).
The other problem is that you are still growing. You don't want to deprive your body of any nutrients that you need, but I know how it is to want to not want fat.

Can termites spread diseases?
My dorm room was invaded by termites- well, the bathroom and my section, to be specific. The day they came out of the woodwork (pun intended), I discovered a rash on the front of both my legs. I had woken up with one of the nasty little things on me.
The director of residence life claimed to have spoken to the pest control company and assured me that, no, termites don't bite people. She suggested that I had a stress rash, what with finals and not having slept in a bed for a week because I kept waking up with bugs on me. I think she's a crackpot, because I've never had a rash from stress.
It was red, splotchy, and itchy for about five days, then it turned into a nice carnation pink. Now, a week after turning pink, it's peeling, but it doesn't itch nearly as much.
It isn't: a sunburn, a heat rash, a stress rash, Lyme disease, or scabies. I'm putting Calagel on it to make it feel better. A doctor is really not an option. Does anyone have any info to offer me? Thanks!

Finally, ALL new (or "sterilized") bedclothes.

I have a friend who just got sorta "in a way" dumped. So now, he's set his eyes on my friend. On Valentines Day, he sent a carnation to her and also a huge story with pseudonyms, not actual names. i hate it !!!!...hes been eating plain bread ...plain boiled pasta ..top ramen ..anything PLAIN since his mom can even remember ( he is 20 now) ..he will never eat anything with a sauce on it ..no meats ...nothing EVER from a restaurant ...i dont know what to do cuz its sooo unhealthy. He knows its not healthy and tries to make up for the lost nutrition with carnation breakfast drink, WHICH I HATE. ive been dealing with this for about 5 months but now he's really starting to get sick because he works so much ..he gets stomach aches easily ..and takes out all his grumpiness on me ...im so hopeless what should i do? ..ps he smokes weed like no other so i WOULD THINK that he likes to eat ...but he just really doesnt like to at all. Im really sad cuz im the type to wanna go sushi every other night ...go out for foods ...enjoy different types of flavors. what can i do?....i love him sooooo much so no useless answers telling me to leave him cuz i wont

Ok.. the problem isn't the fact the man is eating wrong. The fact is.. your BF has a drug problem. You have to decide if you want to continue to enable his distructive behavior or not.
You won't leave him and yet he isn't going to make any changes in his life if he doesn't have to. Thus... your reluctance to 'force this issue' is enabling him to continue.
Here's my suggestion. Give him an ultimatum. Either he get's off the drugs and straighten his life out or he will be alone. Then you need to stick to your side of the deal. If he doesn't change then either A) he doesn't care if you leave or not or B) he doesn't respect your relationship enough to make the right choices. Either way, it will be pretty evident you life will be miserable with him.

Reply:Slow progress is the only thing you can do. Take his pasta, and add parsely flakes; or a very simple butter sauce. Then maybe parmesan cheese; then maybe some vegetables...
Take his plain bread and add butter, then maybe a very light jam, and then replace with peanut butter ...
He has to work up to this very slowly, and he may not be able to eat meat (since his body isn't used to digesting it, he may not have the enzymes to do so and may get sick).
Then, along with that, you need a dedication from HIM that he's going to try these things, so long as you're wililng to go slowly. You may also want to have him talk to a doctor. He may not have to eat meat, but he should be getting protein from beans, and vitamins from fruits and vegetables.

Just because you like certain things doesn't mean he has to, and it doesn't mean that anything is wrong with him. There is nothing wrong with plain food, some have to eat plain food because of medical conditions. This is who he is either accept it or move on. Go out with friends for dinner, but don't expect others to conform to your ideas of norm.
Reply:Try emotional blackmail. Tell him "if you love me, you will taste this (whatever it is you've ordered at the restaurant)." If you can get him to try simple foods, and isn't having some sort of psychological problem, he should discover the range of flavors out there and be intrigued enough to try a few things.
Frankly, though, you must really love this guy because he sounds like a complete nutter.
Reply:Maybe try and get him to take a good vitamin everyday that may help. But seriously that is not good have a long talk with him about this and let him know how much it bothers you and how worried you are for his health if nothing elese get him to see a doctor. good luck

People on these kinds of diets actually have an addiction problem. You could be dealing with that or if his mom was a very controlling person or father than he could have anerexia. Men get this too. I would sit back and lay off of him in either event because your pushing him will not change this. If he is willing to see a dr about this I would encourage that. Maybe a nutricionist and a phychologist. Lots of chemical changes occur on a high sugar diet and with the weed it only makes this worse. I had a daughter who was the same way and through counseling and a nutrionist we were able to get her to talk about things and try new foods that actually gave her more energy and made her feel great. Be patient and try not to nag. Its the worse thing you can do it actually makes it worse. Best wishes

I just opened a can of condensed milk?
and it was a very thick, caramel colored substance-never seen condensed milk like this before. Its the Carnation brand. What gives? Is it bad, and why? The can was sealed and unopened?

it looks like caramel because it has sort of slow cooked into caramel. and it is fabulous. yes, i have eaten it, served it on ice cream - even learned how to make it on purpose. served it to friends who loved it.

oh, you can't use it in the recipe you were planning to use it in. the density and liquidness are all wrong now. it has been through a chemical change.
Reply:It's fine, thats what condensed milk looks like.
There are two kinds of canned milk. One is EVAPORATED Milk The other is Condensed milk. Evaporated milk is closer to normal milk. Condensed milk is condensed down so it's very thick, sweet and Carmel colored.
Reply:wouldnt risk it, check the date, might jsut be a bad batch. I never really seen the carnation kind, but no matter what, caramel coloured is not that good.....it should be slightly llow, but only jsut so it could be mistaken as being white.
Reply:Are you referring to Sweetened Condensed Milk or Evaporated Milk?
If it's evaporated milk, it sounds like the fat (little flecks of butter) has separated from the the rest of the liquid.
When in doubt, just throw it out and buy another can of the same brand to see if it's the same. It may be the way the product turns out for that manufacturer, Carnation.
I'm almost tempted to tell you to just shake it up and use it... but I don't have enough info to answer you fully.
If it's sweetened condensed milk, it could be the way that manufacturer make their product. I'm used to Bordens. Their sweetened condensed milk is more of a yellowish thick goop.
Also, look on the label, I've noticed some companies are now making a "Dulce de leche". Maybe you got one of those cans by mistake.
Reply:Check the expiration date. If it is still current, contact the manufacturer. They may give you coupons or something.

Reply:Are you sure it is CONDENSED MILK? Make sure it is not Sweeten Condensed Milk which is sweeter and carmel colored.
Reply:First expiration date, second, smell it! It usually takes that color when the Carbohydrates of the condensed milk cut their bonds and start deteriorating. I recommend to eating it since you will have a long journey to the bathroom! ;)

There are two kinds of canned milk. One is EVAPORATED Milk The other is Condensed milk. Evaporated milk is closer to normal milk. Condensed milk is condensed down so it's very thick, sweet and Carmel colored.
Reply:wouldnt risk it, check the date, might jsut be a bad batch. I never really seen the carnation kind, but no matter what, caramel coloured is not that good.....it should be slightly llow, but only jsut so it could be mistaken as being white.

If it's evaporated milk, it sounds like the fat (little flecks of butter) has separated from the the rest of the liquid.
When in doubt, just throw it out and buy another can of the same brand to see if it's the same. It may be the way the product turns out for that manufacturer, Carnation.
I'm almost tempted to tell you to just shake it up and use it... but I don't have enough info to answer you fully.
If it's sweetened condensed milk, it could be the way that manufacturer make their product. I'm used to Bordens. Their sweetened condensed milk is more of a yellowish thick goop.
Also, look on the label, I've noticed some companies are now making a "Dulce de leche". Maybe you got one of those cans by mistake.

Reply:First expiration date, second, smell it! It usually takes that color when the Carbohydrates of the condensed milk cut their bonds and start deteriorating. I recommend to eating it since you will have a long journey to the bathroom! ;)

Ok, so we only started going out yesterday. He has liked me for some time, but he was waiting for the annual school carnation sale so he could give me one and ask me out. We went to my youth group last night, and this high school guy got up on the stage and started talking about Valentine's day 'don'ts.' One of them was don't ever forget about Valentine's day. He talked said that you should call the girl and wish her a happy Valentine's day. But since we only started going out yesterday, do you think he will? Why am I gaining weight?
I am very confused right now. For about 3 years, my weight had been steady at between 106-110 lbs. (I am 5'4). I had played soccer for 18 years, so I have always been pretty athletic. I stopped playing 2 years ago, and had been pretty inactive until last summer - I started using an elliptical machine for about a half hour 2-3 days a week. Everything was fine until I started to gradually gain weight, reaching about 113 lbs. by January and 117 by March. Six weeks ago I intensified my workouts, and am now working out pretty intensely. I strength train (full body, free weights, low weights with 12 reps and 3 sets) 2-3 days a week, play sand volleyball with friends 1-2 times a week, and run about 10-13 miles a week: I jog 2 miles on strength training days, do interval training 2 days a week (for 30 minutes: Jog 2 min., sprint 30 sec.) and take a long run (4-6 miles) one day a week. I am gradually gaining weight, and I don't know why! My clothes are tighter, I have gone up a pant size and a shirt size. I tracked my food intake with a food diary for about a week, and on average I take in about 1100-1200 calories a day. I eat very healthily: typical breakfast is either instant oatmeal with fruit or a homemade smoothie made with 1 cup fruit, 1 cup light soy milk, ice, and a packet of No Sugar Carnation instant breakfast. Lunch is a salad with protein, I eat a snack when I get home (before working out), which is usually a high fiber or high protein breakfast bar at about 150 calories. Dinneris typically grilled chicken or pork with steamed veggies and some type of whole grain, or steel cut oatmeal with fruit and nonfat yogurt. Am I working out too much or not eating enough? I'm scared to add more food because I fear gaining even MORE weight!

I want to know if he likes me back… here are some things that makes me wonder…
1. Asked me to the dance (slow dance)
2. Grinded with me in the dance
3. Flirts with me in classes and comes and talks to me
4. But some days he doesn’t talk to me...well I hardly see him, I have no classes with him… so the only time I see him is in one class…we talk and laugh, but certain days we don’t.
5. For Valentine’s day we have this thing where you can send carnations and he was gone for 2 days for that week, and so he didn’t really have time to send a carnation, and I sent him one since we were going to the dance together, and since he didn’t get me one he felt so bad and was like so close to crying and felt horrible that he didn’t get me one
6. When we were slow dancing his friends were saying awww sweet
7. Also when we were slow dancing his friend was saying all this stuff to him like remember you said you couldn’t wait for this day and all this stuff and martin (the guy that I like’s name) he blushed and said to my friend to get him away from us

But the only thing is that my friend asked him what he thought of me, and he said he doesn’t want a girlfriend right now, and that he didn’t like me THAT much… and one of his best friends told me he like another girl… and he said that he wasn’t lying and looked very serious, but then my friend asked him if that was true and he said no way! But then just today I talked to another one of his friends, and he said that the boy doesn’t like anyone… what is going on, what should I do?! Should I just go ahead and ask him out… and there is another dance coming up, should I ask him to that?? I am confused and getting a bit sad…I want to know who he likes, and I am the SHY type…so it’s hard for me to just go up there and ask him…

6. His friends know if he likes you or not. If they say things like that, then you know he likes you.
7. Self-explanatory, he likes you.
8. Sometimes guys know when someone asks you something like that, that they are coming from you. No guy likes to tell who his crush is to his crushes best friend, it's a dead giveaway. Boy's friends lie a lot.

we stayed friends for a while then went out.

Could this diet work?
I'm trying to cut calories and exercise so I can lose some fat on my body. I get so hungry throughout the day and I found Carnation Instant Breakfast. The powder itself has 5 grams of protein and my 2% milk has I think 8 or 9 grams of protein. I planned on drinking it for breakfast, and with lunch..but at lunch I was going to have a small salad, and then eat a regular dinner...but smaller portions. The carnation Instant breakfast has 220 calories with the milk. I also plan on doing cardio 3-4 times a week for 45 minutes and doing pilates 3 times a week for 20 minutes.
Could this diet work?
It sounds like it's a really good plan...you're on the right track, I don't know if I'd do it with lunch, because it has a lot of calories, but that's just me, maybe do water or something instead, that way you can use that 220 cals for like a hundred cal pack of crackers or something...but it does sound good! Good luck!! :) I'm trying the same low calorie thing...my sister lost like 30 pounds in 3 months just by cutting calories and doing cardio...so it must work!
Reply:Did you consider shifting calories instead of reducing them? If you cut calories, you will definitely be starving. However, you could shift the calorie intake to different times during the day.
Your metabolism burns calories based on what it is used to see you eat. So, if you eat less calories, it will burn less. However, by shifting calories, you basically "confuse" your metabolism and it will burn more calories.

Reply:Carnation is good to have at breakfast...but don't do the mistake of dieting. Dieting and programs do not work...unless you use it as a crutch the rest of you life. All you have to do is eat right and work out. You are already to do cardio 3 days a week...include a small amount of weight training...that will burn even more calories and fat than cardio. Eat well proportioned meals....not just a small salad and a meal replacement. I wouldn't even do the carnation every day...just whenever you don't have time to get food. Watch calories...eat right....exercise....and it'll go off and stay off...

Your body needs at least 1200 calories per day. So make sure the foods you eat are healthy and no less than 1200.

Ok so my Uncle is dying with cancer ok and I'm having these images that are all gray except one its a single one and its solid black and they keep telling me hes going to die in less than 2 weeks and we found out today his organs are failing and blood pressure is dropping drastically its 70 over 30 hes going quickly and I didn't know this but everytime I say in my head hes not dying I get a swift pain until I admit he is but they have no feet just arms and heads they have spiked up hair except for that black one it has long flowing hair,am I seeing death like I believe??????
