Babies Breathe Plant, is it safe for pets?

or do you know the scientific name for it, i can't find it on the internet.. i just got a bouquet of flowers, roses and babies breathe and some carnations, and my birds are chowing down. it's sooo cute b ut i want to know if it is safe for them before i let them continue there antics, thanks

I wouldn't trust the answers here to the life of your precious birds. They're delicate animals. For example, cat salive is a nero-toxin for birds.
Reply:My cat eats this stuff all the time. I bring bouquets of flowers home for the wife, and always make sure they have Baby's Breath for the cat. She loves picking the buds off and chewing them up. Purrs like a motorboat the whole time.



I've even tried it myself. Had to find out what the cat liked so much about it. Try it... the little flowers have a sweet, fresh taste..



I haven't thought about letting our bird try it.... but now that you asked this, I'm going to give him some next time.



Update... the conure had a lot of fun plucking the flowers off the stems. Didn't seem interested in eating it, tho. I let the cat finish it off.
