My best guy friend gave me stuff on Valentines Day, but I dont want to be more than friends!!!?

So he gave me a carnation and teddy bear for V-Day. The bear is really cute, but if I keep it, I'll feel like I'm accepting to go out with him. I like him but not THAT kind of way. I don't know how to tell him I'm not interested, without ruining our friendship. (P.S. He's kinda emotional)

As an attractive woman, I have had this happen to me many times.

And I will tell you, it's not an easy situation.

Sometimes kindness is misinterpreted as romantic interest.

And you can't blame the guy, he has feelings too.

Now, I have known many women that will string these guys along to get gifts, money and favors while keeping them at arms length.

But that is so cruel.

So as hard as it is, the kindest thing to do is thank him perfusly for his lovely gift while saying "Isn't it great that I have a FRIEND like you!"

Cruelty is not nessesary.

However, there are a certian type of men who will not take no for an answer.

And then you just have to suck it up and tell him"I value our friendship, but there will never be a time where you and I will have a romanitc relationship. If this affects our relationship, I will be very sad, but I know there is a girl out there for you, it's just not me."

If the relationship ends and he goes away hurt, you'll feel a loss, but you've just done the kindest thing you could do.

Just don't play with other peoples emotions.

Be a grown-up.
Reply:I would keep the stuff....last thing any guy wants is to get his stuff back.

If you feel uncomforable talking to him in person about this, write him a note asking him like if he likes you and stuff.

Trust me, knowing how you guys feel about each other is one of the most important things bout having a guy friend

My advice is that you thank him for the present and you really appreciate him but you don't want to be more than best friends with him. You should keep the present ( unless he wants it back). If you feel bad about saying that or you are shy, maybe just write him online or on a paper and put it on his jacket,desk or whatever.
