Could this diet work?

I'm trying to cut calories and exercise so I can lose some fat on my body. I get so hungry throughout the day and I found Carnation Instant Breakfast. The powder itself has 5 grams of protein and my 2% milk has I think 8 or 9 grams of protein. I planned on drinking it for breakfast, and with lunch..but at lunch I was going to have a small salad, and then eat a regular dinner...but smaller portions. The carnation Instant breakfast has 220 calories with the milk. I also plan on doing cardio 3-4 times a week for 45 minutes and doing pilates 3 times a week for 20 minutes.

Could this diet work?
It sounds like it's a really good plan...you're on the right track, I don't know if I'd do it with lunch, because it has a lot of calories, but that's just me, maybe do water or something instead, that way you can use that 220 cals for like a hundred cal pack of crackers or something...but it does sound good! Good luck!! :) I'm trying the same low calorie thing...my sister lost like 30 pounds in 3 months just by cutting calories and doing cardio...so it must work!
Reply:Did you consider shifting calories instead of reducing them? If you cut calories, you will definitely be starving. However, you could shift the calorie intake to different times during the day.

Your metabolism burns calories based on what it is used to see you eat. So, if you eat less calories, it will burn less. However, by shifting calories, you basically "confuse" your metabolism and it will burn more calories.

This is called calorie shifting. For more details on this diet, go to http://www.UltraSimpleFatLoss.com

Good Luck!

Reply:not without being tired, where are the carbs?

Carnation Instant Breakfast doesn't have everything you need at all.

I will have to see what the sugar and chemical content of this product is, reasearch, gotta love it!

Breakfast Ideas:

oatmeal, cereal, toast, fruit

Lunch/Dinner Ideas:

sandwich, wraps, rice, pasta, tofu, stir fry

Snack Ideas:

Hope this helps!
Reply:Carnation is good to have at breakfast...but don't do the mistake of dieting. Dieting and programs do not work...unless you use it as a crutch the rest of you life. All you have to do is eat right and work out. You are already to do cardio 3 days a week...include a small amount of weight training...that will burn even more calories and fat than cardio. Eat well proportioned meals....not just a small salad and a meal replacement. I wouldn't even do the carnation every day...just whenever you don't have time to get food. Watch calories...eat right....exercise....and it'll go off and stay off...

Let me know if you have any questions...Good luck!
Reply:Sounds like you might end up eating too little.

You need to make sure you incorporate some fruit and nuts and plenty of veggies and lean protein.

Breakfast is a fuel meal so you may want to add in a granola bar with the CIB and an apple.

Your body needs at least 1200 calories per day. So make sure the foods you eat are healthy and no less than 1200.

Good luck!
Reply:thats alot of calories for one meal. try alive protien vitamin which is soy based. its a powder that you mix with milk, yogurt, and fruit to make a smoothie. It doesnt taste that bad but it helps alot in losing weight and making sure your body has the vitamins it needs.
Reply:Not enough food. You need much more protein.

Carnation Instant breakfast has about 30 grams of sugar, too. In fact, it's basically sugar water because the main ingredients are: High Fructose Corn Syrup, Maltodextrin, Sucrose (all sugars)
Reply:sounds fun but make sure you drink lots of water in betweens and you may snack on lowfat yoghurt and raw nuts to add calcium to your body to safeguard muscles and burn off fat faster..
Reply:fantastic...! It will work surely !
Reply:yea it would,,,,gud luk!!
