When I was a kid, we ALWAYS broke my mother's carnation. My kids usually broke my flower. Did your ward give you flowers or was it something different?
We got little bottles of lotion from "Bath %26amp; Bodyworks."
LDS - what was your "Mother's Day" tribute at church? Was it the typical long stem flower?
They give out flowers at my church, but they don't let the kids touch them... they have everyone stay seated after sacrament meeting and the deacons and teachers bring them in to all of the women over 20. They are usually pink and red flowers, but I what type they are depends on the year.
Reply:One year, while I was living in Japan, we got little wooden message dolls--the kind that has a scroll for a skirt. They were so cute!
We got carnations this year--carnations are actually my favorite flower, so I like that.
Reply:I don't know why they always give us carnations - flowers always seem to break and then the mothers are walking around with a stub. How do you hold a flower and a baby?
Reply:In our ward they gave out a CD a very nice one which is has some great songs on it like count your many blessings, if you hie to Kolb and many more songs. They did it last you to.

imo - flowers are always wonderful - but then, my hubby still tends to cut MY roses to give me a flower ;)
Reply:They got to choose either a flower or a plant (grape tomato's/cherry tomato's).......it was kind of weird seeing a plant there this year. But its a good time to start a garden!!!
Reply:In my ward they handed out CD's of church music to every woman 18 and over.
