How is my diet today?

I'm not truly dieting, but trying to eat moderately healthy and low fat/calorie....



Breakfast: Carnation instant breakfast and a little dole mixed fruit cup.



Lunch: Turkey and Swiss on whole grain wheat.. blueberries.. small bag of dorritos... large chocolate chip cookie



Dinner: Bowtie pasta, steamed broccoli, and baked chicken topped with a little bit of jarred alredo sauce.

How is my diet today?
Mmm, cookie sounds good... Okay I'm back. Obviously the cookie is not great. Maybe try a Weight Watchers chocolate cake, they're really good and only 80 calories. As for dinner, chicken is really good, only like 80 calories, and the broccoli is good also. If you could substitute whole wheat pasta for the bowties that would be better, and the alfredo sauce is a big no no, so if you must, then just very little. :)
Reply:As long as all your wheats are whole wheats, like the pasta, bread, etc. your good. You eating your friuts and veggies, so its a good start...however you should try eating more. Make sure you get in at least 6 servings of fruit, this is eaiser than it sounds. You could have a glass of pure fruit juice, that counts as a serving. Also, you mentioned nothing about fluids. You probably just forgot, but just incase try to drink 8 tall glasses of water each day. Along with the healthy diet, make sure you exercise! 60-90 minutes of physical activity each day, if you can. All in all, your doing great! Its nice to see that your not obsessesd with calories, you still got your dorrtios and chocolate chip cookies!=)

I know it's hard to give up the snack foods when you want to eat healthy. Here's an article about some alternatives...http://www.healthy-living-for-moms.com/h... . There's a list of healthy substitutions for the cookies and chips. Good stuff on there.
