If you speak French, can you translate the phrase "night of the red carnations?"?

I am trying to write a short story taking place in France in 1889. The translation of this phrase signifies a hypothetical event.

If you speak French, can you translate the phrase "night of the red carnations?"?
You could try "La nuit des ?illets rouges". Make sure the o and e in ?illets are combined like this: ?illets.

Hope it helps.
