What kind of flowers should i have at my wedding?

Roses? Carnations? Tulips? Daisys? Someone even mentioned sunflowers!? Im getting overwhelmed!

The color scheme is: pink, white, baby blue and maybe a small touch of lavender...

What kind of flowers should i have at my wedding?
Roses are lovely but they can be kind of pricy. Carnations can take on every color but they don't look very original. Tulips are beautiful and elegant, but very difficult to get if they are out of season.

Every flower has its pros and cons. I would look for a florist in the area who can talk to you about flowers. I was not impressed with florist shops, they tend to be very limited in their views of what they can provide. I went with a florist who works out of her home instead of a shop. When I met with her she brought books of flowers and her past work and we just looked through it all go get ideas. All you really need to know is your colors and when the wedding is and you can go from there.

You can have arrangements that are all one flower or many flowers. The flowers for yourself and your bridesmaids might want to be somewhat similar to the bouteniers (sp?) the men in the bridal party wear. There are so many possiblities. Good luck finding exactly what you're looking for :)
Reply:Go to a good florest! What do you like? (thats all that matters) Its your day!
Reply:Do you have favourite colours or flowers? That's where to start, then you can start coordinating colours and types of flowers. Daisies and tulips don't stand up very well over a long day, but go to some local florists for advice, do some internet searches, etc.
Reply:since you seem to be going with an Easter theme, I think the tulips would be a good choice. Or a brightly colored Gerber daisy. What ever you do dont do the roses with the babys breath. Babys breath just makes roses look cheap, like you bought them at the grocery store. If you really want roses go with a bouquet of all white roses wrapped with white ribbon.
Reply:i would have pink roses but you have what you like. have fun and relax
Reply:What's your favorite flower? That's what you should have!!

Also, when you're getting married CAN have an effect on your floral arrangements - if flowers aren't in season, you can get them, but they'll be more expensive. If you want roses around Valentines' Day, you'll pay more for them, because they're in demand.

Start talking to florists. You don't have to hire the first one you meet, but definitely talk to a few. Look at the flowers in the shop, and ask to see photos of the work they've done. Ask lots of questions. Lots! :) They may point you toward something you never even thought you'd like.

Based on your color palette, it sounds like a spring wedding. If I had to go off of that, I'd think lilies (calla), roses, even hydrangeas - things that make me think of spring.
Reply:i would go with white Lillies this way the flowers are delicate and do not detract or over power the dresses and the wedding
Reply:calalailies, stephanotis, tulips
Reply:dandelions
Reply:It's your wedding, pick whatever you want. Mixed flowers might work. My favorite is orchids.
Reply:Roses are beatiful and you can add babysbreath. also consider lily they are very romantic and beatiful, try talking to your florist about some ideas that go with your color scheme and costs. the yshould be able to showe yo uexamples
Reply:Roses and tulips
Reply:Carnations are relatively inexpensive and can be dyed to almost any color you desire. They are usually pretty uniform in size and make attractive arrangements.

There is nothing that says that the flowers have to all be one type so you can also have roses, which are a little more formal or elaborate for certain things.
Reply:We had roses and tulips...they were very pretty. But you can honestly do anything you want.

Look a some examples of bouquets on a wedding website (like theknot.com or weddingchannel.com) and see which one you like. Then take the picture to the florist and ask him/her what the flowers are. Don't get stuck on picking a kind of flower, but rather an arrangement that you like.
