Have you grown carnations (pinks) in your garden?

Is it easy? Will they be blooming in August?

Have you grown carnations (pinks) in your garden?
Yes, I have.

Yes, it's easy.

Yes, they will.

They make a lovely, fragrant addition to your garden.

Reply:the are very easy and come back again and again.

the way to get a second, and perhaps even a third bloom is to cut the dead flowers off.
Reply:Pinks are easy to grow in a well drained garden. It is not much use trying to grow them in heavy soil like clay. My sister inlaw lives on chalky soil and grow fab ones, I have heavy clay and cant really grow them at all unless I put them on the rockery. And yes they bloom well in mid to late summer and smell lovely
