How long do regular store-bought carnations generally last before dying?

if i were to buy carnations from a local supermarket, about how long would it be before they start to wilt, and/or die? It's a pretty straightforward question.

i am a plant major at the college of Dupage-keep your carnations free from direct sunlight, away from heat vents, and by trimming the tips of the stems and replacing the water on a daily basis, they should last up to a week or more.
Reply:I've had them last up to two weeks and beyond. Keep changing the water in the vase.
