If a rose is just a rose what is a carnation?
A carnation is just a carnation. I don't like those funeral flowers.

Reply:The carnation is in the dianthus family, loosly translated it means, "flower of love" or "flower of the gods". Christians believe the first carnation bloomed when Mary wept while Jesus was being lead to the Cross. Today some of the meanings are facination, distinction, and love.
