Any ob nurses on? 10 weeks pregnant and really need some advice.?

Recently I had an experience with a tenant, he was in the middle of a heart attack and another tenant came to get me. When I got to him, he had just collapsed and I began cpr on him. He was bleeding from his eyes and purple. I couldn't save him.

My problem is that not only am I kinda traumatzed by this, but I am really having a hard time eating. Every time I go to eat, I see his face and how bad he looked and I loose my appetite. I'm basically living on carnation instant breakfast. I know it will pass and I'll be ok, but any suggestions on anything to help me keep my baby and myself well nurished? I'm 10 weeks along and the incident happened Sunday night. Thank you so very much!

I am not a nurse but I do have 2 children. I can tell you this. Your baby will get his/her nurishment first and then you get what's left. An unborn baby only needs 300 calroies per day. So while you do need to eat healthy for your sake and the baby's. Your little one won't go be hurt by a few days of light eating. Try thinking about what your little one will look like and be like when it is tie to eat. That will probably give you extra motivation to eat well and to block that ugly image out of your mind.
Reply:Make sure that you are taking your prenatal vitamins because they will help nurish you and your baby and just keep drinking water and trying to eat food. maybe medatating will help pass this faster or yoga. whatever helps you keep your mind and body relaxed and not thinking of what you saw. Good luck and sorry to hear about that.
Reply:Oh my, how awful! I am so sorry this happened to you! Just know that being sort of shocked and feeling sick are normal after this kind of a trauma. Just relax, and breathe before you eat, try to think about more pleasant things like your baby and how beautiful he/she will be!

Talk to your doctor and maybe see a counselor to talk about how you are feeling and also your anxiety about your pregnancy.
Reply:well thats alot to handel you just need to think about the health of your baby and forget about this man who could care less about living. hes dead honey and its not your fault. just ask your self this question...do i want my baby to suffer for a man that is dead and over eith. ... maybe god gave you this baby because he knew that this man was going to pass. dont stress this could hurt the baby in the long run.
Reply:Not a nurse...but, What a terrible experience. So sorry you had to go through that. I'd really recommend seeing a counselor. At least once. Make sure you are taking your prenatal vitamins. Try to drink juices with vegatables and fruit in it, like V-8. There is also Ensure.

Say a prayer and ask for God's help. You did a good thing....it was just his time. God bless.
