My 5? month old cant keep formula down?
Both of my boys did well with the Enfamil Prosobee. It is soy, not milk, based. You should wait at least a week after you switch him/her to tell if it will work. There are a few different things that would require prescriptions and things like that. I would definetly see the dr. Also, you might try adding cereal to the bottle. I know many people say you shouldn't do this, but sometimes it is the only thing that helps keep baby's food down. Plus it adds extra calories and weight, if baby is little.
Reply:Have you talked to your doctor? Sometimes a baby needs some consistency in the formula. Stick with one brand or you may need to get a Rx brand. Is she throwing up or just spitting up? My breastfed 5 month old baby spits up allot. Maybe you need to start frequent smaller meals for your little one? Hope all goes well.
Reply:Have you seen the doctor? I would trust the doctor's advice over someone from Yahoo Answers. If it costs too much to see the doctor, try the pharmacist for some suggestions. Good Luck!
Reply:try prosebee or infamil soy based formula my son had the same problem and the soy based formua worked wonders.
Reply:I would certainly make a call to the doctor, but all the switching can also cause problems. After switching, you should give it a week or so, for your baby to get used to it. It may take a few days for them to adjust to the new formula. And after some time, and a call to your doctor, you may need a soy product. All those formulas are milk based. Good luck.
Reply:I had the same problem with my son when he was younger the Dr. told us it was acid reflex. They gave him baby Zantac and it worked.
Reply:Did you try breastfeeding?
There could be a problem with his stomach, My husband had to have surgery when he was a baby because there was a little flap right above his stomach that would not let the formula get down. I would talk to a docotr if i was you.
