Oh I hate it when people do that - it's creepy. Just ask him straight out. You want to know, after all... If it's the guy you like sending you stuff, then that's awesome! If it's not, then you can say something like, oh good, it's kinda creepy to not know who it's from and you don't seem like a creepy kinda guy... you know, use it to start a conversation...
