What flowers should I have in my wedding (my colors are a light grey and periwinkle)?

I really like roses, but they are a bit on the expensive side. I like carnations, but are they really for a wedding? What else is there?

What flowers should I have in my wedding (my colors are a light grey and periwinkle)?
Do you want flowers in those colors or a contrasting color like pink? What color are the dresses?

What I would suggest is find pictures of bouquets that you like the overall look of, then take them to your florist and ask what flowers would be good to substitute. Depending on where you live and the season you're getting married in, it's hard to say what flowers would be the least expensive.

You can also substitute professional quality silks for the more expensive, delicate flowers. I wanted peonies and lily of the valley in my bouquet for sentimental reasons, but they were expensive and delicate, so the florist mixed in silk ones with the real flowers and it was beautiful.

And if you really want roses or another expensive flower, consider using them more as accents than the entire bouquet. A few roses mixed in with other flowers will give you the look you want without costing a lot.

Reply:Lilies and hydrangeas would be beautiful with these colors and come in a variety of colors. You could also take a trip to Michaels or Hobby Lobby....and take a look at their silk flowers...even if you aren't going to use silk, this will give you an idea of what the names of the different flowers are and what colors they come in and what will look like together . Just take a piece of paper and make notes...then you can take this to your florist to check for prices.
Reply:Hydrangeas are great. They come in colors that will match your wedding and you get a lot of flower for your money.
Reply:Lizianthis and Peonies are both flowers that look a lot like roses, and I believe they are less expensive. Please don't do carnations, those are not really good wedding flowers. There are also tulips, calla lilies, hydrangea, all beautiful flowers. As a matter of fact, they have some really pretty bluish hydrangeas that would probably be really pretty with your colors. Hope this helps! Good luck.
Reply:you can use any flowers you want. It's your wedding. Baby's breath, lilies, carnations (would be beautiful) and gardenias
Reply:I love lilies - calla %26amp; stargazer are lovely! and Alstomeria makes a great filler flower with them %26amp; would pick up your colors. What about Lavender Delphinium and peonies - http://www.mysilkweddingflowers.com/no.2...
Reply:I choose the exact same colors for my June wedding. We choose purple roses %26amp;white carnation arrangements. They looked amazing. If you don't want to spend a fortune on flowers,Check out your local grocery store, and see what they have to offer. Believe it or not we went to our local grocery store, which had a floral dept. that would do weddings. We paid like 300$ and got so much for our $$ ,we couldn't believe it. We got so many compliments on them. All the corsages, boutinneires, bouquets, and table arrangements.
